News & Events

Trillium Waldorf School hosts a series of open houses, information evenings and fundraising or community events throughout the year that are open to the wider community. These events help to inform the community about Waldorf Education which is often described by parents and friends alike as "one of the best kept secrets in education." Come visit our school and learn how Waldorf education helps foster the skills and flexibility children will need in the future, or simply visit for the personal experience!

Please refer to the Programs and Events Calendar below to plan your visit; the calendar is followed by some more detailed information on a variety of the events we offer. Please contact us if you would enjoy to be on our mailing list for electronic or hard copy mailing of events information. Please also feel free to book a personal appointment to tour the school at any time, and discuss our unique education with our Enrollment Coordinator, Connie Watson.

Open Houses - Early Childhood Programs and Grade School

Trillium Waldorf School hosts a number of Open Houses every year to give prospective parents the opportunity to meet members of our dedicated and inspiring Faculty, view our students' academic, artistic and practical work, and tour our beautiful school and classrooms. Come encounter the inspired approach of Waldorf education.

For Early Childhood Programs Open House Only -* For parents with young children, experience the richness of a seasonal story told in the oral tradition, accompanied by simple handmade figures and props made of natural materials. This tableau-style puppet play visually and aurally demonstrates one unique and inspiring feature of Waldorf early childhood programs. Begins at approximately 10:30 am.

Our Annual Fall and Spring Fairs!

Our fall and spring fairs offer a rare opportunity to explore our school, experience our community in action, take part in creative and fun-filled activities, learn about Waldorf Education, and enjoy some simple refreshments. For the younger children, the Kindergarten Faculty present beautiful and imaginative puppet plays. Crafts for children range from projects suitable for smaller hands to more challenging ones for children aged 10 to 14. Visit Celebrating Sophia (our school store) for an array of natural toys, crystals, unique books, and arts supplies.

'Walk Through the Grades' Tours

Throughout the year we also offer occasional opportunities to enter selected grade school classrooms while teaching and learning are in progress. This access is offered to groups on publicized dates only. Witness some distinct elements of a typical Waldorf 'main lesson', and hear about other elements of the curriculum. Note: Adults only please. No children, although babes in arms are permitted.

Lectures

Throughout the year the school hosts speaking engagements presented by visiting experts in Waldorf education, for the benefit of the faculty and parents. These illuminating engagements are open to the general public as well, and will be listed on the Special Events page as details become finalized.
